Avenue Project wins first place in the Conservation Category of the BTO Business Bird Challenge
We are pleased to announce that East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and Derbyshire Wildlife Trust (DWT), for their work at The Avenue, have won first place in the conservation category for restoration sites in the BTO (British Trust for Ornithology) Business Bird Challenge 2006.
The Challenge offers the BTO the opportunity to recognize and applaud the efforts that many businesses are making to improve their sites’ conservation value and work in partnership with their local communities.
The Avenue Project Team and Derbyshire Wildlife Trust would like to thank everyone involved in achieving this success. Particular thanks go out to the members of the public and volunteers without whom this could not have been achieved. (see BTO Bulletin 4 for details)
Thank you……
Tim Murdoch (JACOBS) receiving the award from Baroness Young of Old Scone, CEO of the Environment Agency at the awards ceremony at Rutland Water. This award would not have been achieved without the outstanding work that Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and particularly the public volunteers have carried out over the previous 12 months.
